What do I need to rent from VBC? your VCUCard/student ID (if you do not have a VCU Student ID you may use a valid driver's license or state ID card) a credit/debit card to link to your account as backup payment. The system will request the capture of backup payment each time you checkout with a rental. *Note: Network-branded gift cards (ex: Visa gift card), VCUCards with linked Wells Fargo accounts, rambucks, or cards with expiration dates prior to the rental due date cannot be used as backup payment. payment method if not using the same card as your backup payment. Other payment methods include: cash, a different credit/debit card, rambucks, and VBC gift cards.
What can I rent from VBC?VBC tries to offer rental options for as many course materials as possible! This includes textbooks, novels, solution manuals, workbooks, calculators, and book + access code packages. Are rentals from VBC physical books or ebooks?All rentals through VBC are physical books and not ebook/digital textbooks.Do rentals from VBC include access codes?Some rentals do include access codes. Rentals that include access codes will include the name of the access code in their title listing. Access codes do not need to be returned with rentals.Do rentals from VBC include CDs/DVDs?Some rentals do include CDs or DVDs. Their title listing will say w/CD or w/DVD. Additionally when possible, VBC rentals will have two stickers stating the due date on them. ; ; ;View front sticker example. ; ; ;View back sticker example.All receipts for rentals also include the due date.Will VBC remind me to return my rentals?Due to a various factors we can never guarantee a reminder notification but VBC does send multiple email reminders to the email address listed for your account. We also offer the option to receive a text reminder to the phone number listed on your account.
As stated in the rental contract, all notifications are a courtesy. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the renter to return all rentals by the due date with or without reminder notifications. Can VBC refuse to accept my rental back when I return it?Yes, VBC can refuse to accept your rental back if it is not returned in good condition as stated on your rental contract. VBC reserves the right to determine if a rental is in good condition or not. Good condition generally means free of any liquid damage, free of loose or missing pages/covers, and free of excessive writing or
highlighting. If VBC determines your rental is not in good condition you will be charged for the replacement cost.Can I return my rentals by mail?Sure. Make sure to wrap up your rentals in something to keep them dry during transit. Address your package like
this to ensure it arrives to us by your due date.

Include your first and last name used to create your rental account. Customer is responsible for shipping cost. If
your shipped rentals have damage will we charge your card on file the replacement cost and ship the rental back to
you. Sometimes replacement cost for rentals is actually cheaper than shipping the rental back. Feel free to contact us to see if your replacement cost is cheaper than your shipping cost!
Can someone else return my rentals for me?Yes. They just need to know the first and last name you used to rent with. What other expenses could I incur?Rentals not returned by the due date will be subject to a $15 fee per rental not returned as well as replacement
cost for the rental. Can I decide to own my rental?Yes! As soon as you pay replacement pricing either on your own, due to a damaged rental, or due to a non returned
rental then you own the item.
